WhatsApp Testing Multi-Account Feature: Access Multiple Accounts from One Device

1 Mins read

WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that will allow users to access multiple WhatsApp accounts from a single device. The feature, currently being tested on the beta version of the app, aims to provide more convenience and flexibility to users who manage multiple accounts for different purposes.

The multi-account feature was discovered by WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo, which found it in the WhatsApp Business beta for Android 2.23.13.5 upgrade on the Google Play Store. The feature is expected to be compatible with the WhatsApp Messenger application as well. Although it is still in the development phase, it is anticipated to be rolled out to the public later this year.

The upcoming feature will introduce a menu within the app that allows users to choose which WhatsApp account they want to log in to. Once a new account is created, it will be saved on the device until the user logs out. Additional accounts can be added, similar to the functionality offered by Instagram.

The main advantage of the multi-account feature is its ability to help users manage separate personal, professional, and other social conversations within a single app. This segregation ensures that users can maintain their privacy across all their accounts and effectively manage notifications by customizing them for each account. Switching between accounts will be effortless, providing a seamless user experience.

While the feature was discovered on the beta version of the WhatsApp Business app, it is expected that it will be available to all users in the future, starting with beta testers. It is worth noting that when WhatsApp releases a feature for Android, an iOS version usually follows, and vice versa. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that an iOS version of the multi-account feature may also be in the works.

With this upcoming feature, WhatsApp aims to enhance the user experience by catering to the needs of individuals who manage multiple accounts. By allowing them to conveniently access different accounts from one device, WhatsApp is poised to provide greater convenience and efficiency to its users.
