One of the ways to bond with friends, or to ease off stress and boredom the first is through gaming. Gaming is fun and now rewarding all thanks to the P2E innovations in web3.
However, metaverse opens up new dimensions to gaming experience, making it more engaging, immersive and persuasive. Beyond the regular joystick or pad, a VR headset makes gaming much more fascinating. Multiplayer on the other hand are games with long explored shared worlds where Gamers worldwide can play with each other in a shared environment over the internet

Below is a list of metaverse games that you can’t afford not to play this year 2022. In no particular order, let’s have a look at few of such games.

Axie Infinity
Axie Infinity is one of the most popular games in the blockchain world. Axie Infinity is a non-fungible token-based online video game developed by Vietnamese studio Sky Mavis, known for its in-game economy which uses Ethereum-based cryptocurrencies. Players of Axie Infinity collect and mint NFTs which represent axolotl-inspired digital pets known as Axies. Each pet is unique, while players use different combinations to create the perfect pet. Axie Infinity is available on PC as well as mobile.

The Sandbox
The game is entitled “The Sandbox” because it provides users with tools to create their own universe through the exploration of resources such as water, soil, lightning, lava, sand, glass, and many more complex elements such as humans, wildlife, and mechanical contraptions.
Fans of Minecraft will love The Sandbox. It also allows players to create, monetize and distribute digital works inside its virtual world. Additionally, players also earn SAND tokens, which is the game’s native currency. To play, one only needs to create an account on their website and connect their crypto wallet.

Star Atlas
A grand strategy game of space exploration, territorial conquest, political domination, and more.
It allows players to compete in galactic challenges and create valuable items. The designed objects can be traded as NFTs. The game is built on the Solana network.

Illuvium is a metaverse game built on the Ethereum network. It has not yet launched but has already created quite a buzz online. Players are tasked with hunting deity-like creatures called Illuvials. Additionally, the Illuvials are tradable NFTs.

My Neighbor Alice
My Neighbor Alice is a multiplayer builder-game where players build and create their own virtual lands, interact with neighbors, perform exciting daily activities and earn rewards. Anyone can join the world by owning a virtual island and participating in various activities such as farming, fishing, bug catching and beekeeping. Activities, shared quests and competitions bring valuable rewards and upgrade players’ status in the game. The NFTs in this game include plants, animals, houses, clothes, decor, etc. These NFTs are also tradable on the Alice marketplace and other blockchains.
