The messaging giant has recently rolled out an update that allows users to pin up to three messages within a single chat, both individual and group conversations, the company confirmed via its official WhatsApp X (formerly Twitter handle). The pinned messages stay at the top of the personal or group chat, as a banner. Tapping on the said banner will take users to the pinned message in the chat.

Previously, users were restricted to pinning just one message at a time. This could be frustrating, especially in group chats where important information or reminders often get buried under an avalanche of new messages.

Here’s the gist of the new feature:

• Pin up to three messages in a chat for easier access.
• Pinned messages stay conveniently placed at the top of the chat, right below the contact or group info.
• Choose the duration for which each message remains pinned – 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days.
• By default, pinned messages will stay pinned for 7 days.
