Windows 11 to Get Native RGB Lighting Control Feature in Latest Insider Build

1 Mins read
  • Windows 11 will allow users to control RGB lighting directly from the system.
  • Windows 11 will also allow users to match the color of the RGB lights with the accent color of the operating system.

According to reports, the latest Insider Build of Windows 11 will allow users to control RGB lighting directly from the system. Typically, most gaming laptops and desktop PCs feature RGB lighting, which is primarily used to enhance the gaming experience. To manage the lighting or effects they produce, companies like Dell, HP, Asus, and Lenovo provide customized applications to their users. However, Windows 11 lacks native support or an application to control these RGB lights in its settings. Microsoft is now working on the light control feature, which will eliminate the need for third-party apps.

Bleeping Computer, a tech news outlet reported that the Insider build of Windows 11, discovered by software developer Albacore, contains hidden controls for managing RGB lights in the latest version. The discovery implies that the Settings menu will soon feature a way for users to manage RGB lighting. The Settings menu’s Personalization section will display all devices with RGB components, including external ones.

The app interface displayed in screenshots shared by software developer Albacore on his Twitter handle shows options to adjust the brightness and color of the lights, as well as the speed of the animations and the light effects. Windows 11 will also allow users to match the color of the RGB lights with the accent color of the operating system. With this feature, manufacturers of laptops and PCs can rely on Microsoft to control these effects more efficiently.

As of now, Microsoft has not made an official announcement about the feature discovered by Albacore in Windows 11 build 25295. According to Albacore, the specifications for this feature date back to 2018, and references to it have been present for several years.
