WhatsApp on iPhones gets new features: Status update reaction, Call Links, and more

1 Mins read

WhatsApp is releasing an update for iPhone users through the Apple App Store. The updated version of the app (version 22.21.75) will allow iPhone users to react to the status updates of other users, a feature that is already available on Android.

The App Store changelog has officially announced the new feature but has also mentioned that the Status Reaction feature will arrive for all users “over the coming weeks.” Earlier, WhatsApp started beta-testing this new feature for both Android and iOS users.

Apart from this new ability, the new update will also add multiple other features. As mentioned above, this new feature will allow users to react to status updates with available emojis. The emojis that will be included in this feature won’t be similar to the ones that are available on both WhatsApp and Instagram direct messages.

WhatsApp iPhone Updates

Emoji Update

The eight emojis that will appear when you swipe up on a status update include a face with heart-shaped eyes, tears of joy, an open mouth, a crying face, folded hands, clapping hands, a party popper, and hundred points.

iOS version Call Update

In addition to this, the update has also added the Call Links feature to the iOS version of the app.

Message delete update

The updated iOS app will also allow users to undo the “delete for me” option for a few seconds and even includes a few features that will help the group admins.

Moreover, group admins can now delete others’ messages for all group members. WhatsApp will also show the other participants who deleted the message.

Group Silent Exit

With this new update, only admins will be notified when a member leaves a group.
