Alphabet-owned company, Google, has announced that it is expanding the scope of its AI-powered Smart Reply feature.
The Smart Reply feature will now be able to suggest responses to be used as comments in Google Docs.
Google added that the feature will be rolling out in the coming weeks, and will be available to all users.
According to Google, the feature will be turned on by default, but it can be disabled by going through Tools > Preferences > Show Smart Reply suggestions.
This feature is the latest territory claimed by Google’s AI Smart Reply and Smart Compose features.
The latter is already available in Gdocs and elsewhere, while the former lurks most prominently in your Gmail inbox.

Varied reactions trail these AI-powered features. While some users enjoy the convenience of using AI to offer up those little comments to improve their productivity, others frown at the deadening effect they have on language.
They believe that the effect on language will be hideous, especially if you are feeling particularly hyperbolic, on the human soul.
Why think about what you’re saying to your colleagues if AI can fill in the gaps where you brain used to be?
According to some users that are enthusiastic about the feature, they are simply looking forward to a time when AI can chat with their AI workmates, while they have a lie down somewhere.
