Facebook-owned messaging app, WhatsApp, has commenced worldwide rollout of Sticker Search. The newly implemented feature would enable users to search for sticker, same way users do with texts and emojis.
The feature, which is expected to make texting over the app more fun and engaging, is set to join a series of features added to the app this year.
Earlier in the year, WhatsApp updated its privacy policy. The review has brought about a truckload of backlash from the public, who are skeptical about Facebook’s track record about data protection and process.
The privacy policy update prompted a mass exodus of users from WhatsApp to rival platforms like Telegram and Signal.
Since the backlash faced earlier in the year, WhatsApp has been cautious about the release of features, possibly due to a preempted public skepticism. The company has been taking baby steps at releasing features.
Long before now, WhatsApp added a feature that allow its users to only search for emojis and GIFs. However, recently the social media platform took to Twitter to announce that they will be releasing a new feature that will allow the users to search for specific stickers.
With this sticker search feature, users will find it easy to send the exact sticker they want to – depending on their conversation.

The sticker search feature is available for both Android and IOS users globally. When announcing the feature in the tweet, WhatsApp mentioned that there are stickers available for when there is the “Need to say I love you” and “Need to say I know.”
This is arguably a cool feature from WhatsApp, as some users have found how to make conversation more fun and delightful by the addition of stickers.
WhatsApp tracking website WABetainfo, announced earlier this year that that WhatsApp is working on adding a feature that allows user to import their animated sticker packs from third party sources.
WhatsApp was launched in February of 2009 by Jan Koum and Brian Acton. It was later bought by Facebook in 2014 for $16 billion.
