Netflix today, announced a new way its users can binge-watch their favourite TV shows while offline.
The US-based streaming giant today launched a new opt-in feature that would automatically download new content the app thinks you might be interested in.
“Downloads For You”, as it is tagged, analyses data from your viewing history, and uses the result of the analysis to find new shows and films that match your tastes.
The app would then download the content to your mobile device whenever it ss connected to a Wi-Fi network.

According to a statement by Patrick Flemming, Netflix’s Director of Product Innovation,
“Whether you’re a comedy fan stuck on a long car ride, or a rom-com lover without internet, we do the work so there is always something new waiting to entertain and delight you.”
Currently, the feature is only available on Android, but Netflix says it will soon test it on iOS devices.
The feature is an addition to Netflix’s Smart Downloads. Smart Downloads automatically deletes a downloaded episode after you’ve watched it — and then downloads the next one.
The new features can be accessed by going to the Downloads tab on your mobile device and turning on Downloads For You.
You can then choose how much content you want downloaded – 1GB, 3GB, or 5GB.
The more storage space you allow, the more recommendations Netflix will download.
