Ring, today, launched the new Video Doorbell Wired. The device is the company’s smallest and most affordable doorbell.
The home-security company made it known to the public that the doorbell would be made available for pre-order starting from the 24th of February.
The Video Doorbell Wired includes standard video doorbell features that are found in similar video doorbell devices.
Some of the features includes two-way audio, live streaming, advanced motion detection, motion and privacy zones, night vision and more.
In addition to the features, Ring says that its customers can opt in for a subscription service as well.
The subscription starts at $3 per month, and it includes a more robust notification system and various levels of video storage.
As with all of Ring’s products, the Video Doorbell Wired will also work with other smart home devices, such as Alexa-driven Echo speakers and displays, lights and alarms.

Ring’s newest video doorbell device is mostly notable for its size and price point, which is about $60.
However, there is one major limitation of the new Ring Video Doorbell Wired — unlike other pricier variants, the doorbell can only be used as a hardwired doorbell, instead of the battery-powered option that sells for about $100.
Ring is a home security and smart home company owned by Amazon. Ring manufactures home security products that incorporates outdoor motion-detecting cameras.
The company also hosts an app, Neighbors, for online social sharing of captured footage among users.
Ring provides video footage from its cameras and data from its Neighbors app to law enforcement agencies on request.
Ring’s police partnerships have been often criticized by civil rights advocacy groups as building an invasive private surveillance network.
