WhatsApp Working On The Release Of A Multi-account Feature For iOS Users

WhatsApp is busy working on a game-changing feature for its iOS app: multi-account support.

What does it mean to iPhone Users?

This means iPhone users will soon be able to manage multiple WhatsApp accounts within the same app. This will invariably eliminate the need for workarounds like using WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business for personal and business accounts or relying on third-party apps or clones.

The feature was first tested in the beta version 25.2.10.70 of WhatsApp for iOS, indicating that it is still under development. Once this version is made available to users, they will be able to add multiple accounts by scanning a QR code or setting up a new account from scratch.

How will this version work?

– Users will have the option to add a new account as a primary or companion account
– Each account will maintain its own chats, groups, and notifications
– Users will be able to switch between accounts seamlessly without needing to log out

This feature is particularly useful for individuals who manage multiple phone numbers, such as those with separate personal and work accounts. It’s also a welcome update for dual SIM users, who will no longer need to dedicate one SIM to WhatsApp and another to WhatsApp Business

Availability and Timeline

The multi-account feature is expected to roll out to all iOS users globally once testing is complete. However, there’s no confirmed release date yet, and it may take several months for the feature to become widely available

WhatsApp’s move to introduce multi-account support on iOS brings it closer to feature parity with its Android counterpart, which has had this functionality since October 2023. The update also highlights WhatsApp’s focus on enhancing user experience and providing tools that simplify communication management.
