Founded by Niket Raj Dwivedi, Aishwarya Raj Pandey, Prateek Kaien, and Harsh Dwivedi, Medial is a content-driven, community-focused platform designed to cater to professionals across various domains such as technology, product management, and UI/UX design. The platform serves as a hub for startup-related news, industry insights, and workplace discussions presented in an engaging, value-driven manner.
Medial initially launched as a networking platform for startup professionals but has ambitious plans to expand into a job board and a global company profiling tool. It aims to create a thriving community for product managers, venture capitalists, business analysts, UI/UX designers, and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Since its alpha launch, Medial has grown to host a community of over 100,000 entrepreneurs, tech enthusiasts, investors, and startup professionals. The platform also boasts more than 10,000 daily active users, underscoring its rapid adoption within a short timeframe.
Medial distinguishes itself by combining real identities, similar to LinkedIn and GitHub, with an optional anonymous mode that allows users to engage more freely while maintaining privacy. This dual approach enhances the platform’s appeal for transparent yet inclusive workplace conversations.
The professional social media platform, has successfully raised $500,000 in a funding round led by Ortella Global Capital (OG Capital). The fund, co-founded by Rajvardhan Mohite and former IFC executive Sayan Ghosh, marks a significant milestone for the Bengaluru-based startup.
This marks Medial’s second successful funding round in 2024, following its $120,000 pre-seed round in January, which was led by FirstCheque VC.
The company plans to use the newly raised capital to develop an integrated professional ecosystem aimed at fostering meaningful connections, supporting career growth, and providing valuable content for the global startup and tech community.
Medial operates in a competitive space, taking on platforms like Grapevine, Hood (previously known as Zorro), and to some extent, FishBowl, Blind, and Reddit. Despite this, its focus on community-driven content and a unique blend of identity options positions it as a promising player in the professional networking landscape.
With fresh funding and an ambitious vision, Medial aims to redefine professional networking and become an essential platform for the global startup and tech ecosystem.
