CcHUB and Mastercard Foundation launch third EdTech Fellowship to boost African education innovation

Co-creation HUB (CcHUB) and the Mastercard Foundation have announced the third cohort of their EdTech Fellowship, inviting Nigerian educational technology startups to apply for a transformative acceleration program.

The fellowship aims to support innovative educational technology solutions that can improve learning outcomes and expand access to quality education across Africa. Successful applicants will receive significant support, including $100,000 in non-equity funding, expert mentorship, and access to an extensive investor network.

Previous cohorts have demonstrated remarkable impact. In 2024, 12 Nigerian startups reached 11,341 new learners, with over 90% of their impact focused on young people. The program has already supported 140 EdTech companies since its launch in 2020.

To be eligible, the startup must:

  1. Be Africa-focused and incorporated in Nigeria.
  2. Provide solutions that address educational challenges in areas such as K-12 education, tertiary learning, or vocational skills training.
  3. Have verifiable users and offer products that align with the program’s areas of focus: education access, student learning, school management, and teacher/trainer effectiveness.
  4. Have a balanced team with a burning passion for education, with special emphasis on female founders.

Selected ventures will receive comprehensive support including product development guidance, marketing strategy, and connections with key educational stakeholders.

Interested startups can apply via the application page.

Application deadline is 31st January, 2025
