1 Mins read

Huawei Egypt and Vodafone Egypt have successfully deployed the world’s first commercial 25 Gbps microwave link, ushering in a new era of ultra-high-speed connectivity. This cutting-edge innovation, operating in the E-band spectrum at 80 GHz, has the capability to transform data transmission capabilities across long distances.

The timing couldn’t be more perfect, as Egypt gears up for the second phase of its 5G rollout, and positioning the country as a regional powerhouse in telecommunications, supporting the burgeoning demands of 5G, cloud computing, and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

Jim Liu, CEO of Huawei Egypt, emphasized the strategic importance of this milestone, stating, “As part of our strategic partnership with Vodafone Egypt, this 25 Gbps microwave link will enable the delivery of high-demand applications such as 5G, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT).”

But the innovations don’t stop there. Huawei Cloud, in partnership with Telecom Egypt, has launched its first public cloud platform in the country. This initiative, coupled with Egypt’s impressive network of submarine cable systems, is set to catapult the nation into a leading position in cloud computing and digital services across the Middle East and Africa.

As we stand on the brink of a digital revolution, Egypt emerges as a focal point for technological progress. With lightning-fast data transmission, robust cloud infrastructure, and strategic global partnerships, the country is poised to become a digital oasis, fostering innovation and connectivity that will resonate across continents.
