NYC-based Protege Raises $10M in Seed Funding

Founded by Samuels and Travis May—CEO of Shaper Capital and co-founder/former CEO of LiveRamp and Datavant; Protege is a New York City-based company specializing in AI training data platforms. The company offers a platform that facilitates the secure and compliant exchange of data for AI training. By bridging the gap between data holders and AI developers, the company enables the development of responsible and innovative AI technologies.

Just recently, the company announced that it has secured $10 million in seed funding. The seed funding round which was led by CRV, with additional participation from investors such as SV Angel, Liquid 2 Ventures, Bloomberg Beta, Flex Capital, Adam D’Angelo, Travis May, and others.

Protege plans to allocate the new capital toward scaling its operations and accelerating product development. The company is particularly focused on unlocking valuable types of data, much of which has historically been inaccessible to external developers but is crucial for advancing AI solutions.
