SportAI was founded by Lauren Pedersen, a former NCAA tennis player and now CEO, alongside Felipe Longé, CTO, and Andreas Thome, Board Chairman and former CEO of Play Magnus. They are joined by industry experts Espen Agdestein, who serves as a Board member, and Trond Kittelsen, Head of Commercial and founder of a tennis app.
SportAI leverages advanced technology to analyze athletes’ techniques in real-time across sports such as golf, tennis, and padel. By using machine learning, computer vision, and biometric technology, the platform provides instant, personalized feedback aimed at improving performance. This includes comparing an individual’s technique to thousands of other players, including top professionals, and delivering objective, precise written and visual analysis.
Traditionally, the level of detailed, data-driven analysis offered by SportAI was accessible only to professional athletes with the resources to hire performance analysts. Now, SportAI makes this kind of analysis available to millions of players worldwide, offering a scalable, automated platform that delivers high-quality insights at an affordable cost.
In addition to benefiting athletes, broadcasters can utilize SportAI’s technology to enhance live sports commentary by providing instant technique analysis, enriching the fan experience. Equipment brands can also use the platform to recommend products tailored to an athlete’s personal technique, further integrating data-driven insights into the sporting world.
SportAI, a B2B sports technology company based in Oslo, Norway, has secured $1.8 million in Seed funding. The round was led by Skyfall Ventures, with participation from Norwegian pension fund MP Pensjon, former professional tennis player and AI startup founder Dekel Valtzer, and Sverre Munck, former EVP at Schibsted.
The newly raised capital will be used to scale technology development, expand the company’s team, and increase market penetration.
