Kreedo Garners $4m In Series A Funding

Kreedo, an edtech platform focused on early childhood education was founded in 2012 by Mridula Shridhar and VK Manikandan. Kreedo collaborates with affordable private schools and preschools to transform early childhood education. The platform’s creative approach is built around its proprietary 6T learning framework, which centers on Kreedo Activity Labs. These labs provide a structured environment that enables play-based learning, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 guidelines for foundational education.

Kreedo currently serves children aged 3 to 8 years (Nursery to Grade 2), offering comprehensive solutions that empower schools to significantly improve educational outcomes. By integrating play as the core method of learning, Kreedo addresses the challenges of early education at scale. Over the past two years, the platform has experienced substantial growth, doubling its revenue, expanding from 700 to 1,700 schools and preschools, and increasing the number of children benefitting from its programs from 55,000 to over 140,000.

Just recently, the company announced that it has successfully raised $4 million in a Series A funding round. This funding round was co-led by Singapore-based Heritas Capital and existing investor UBS Optimus Foundation. Additional support came from returning investors, including Gray Matters Capital, 1Crowd, The Chennai Angels, and The Joka Angel Network.

The newly acquired funds will be directed towards enhancing Kreedo’s product offerings and expanding its reach across new regions in India, according to the company’s press release.

Looking ahead, Kreedo plans to extend its offerings to cover grades 3 to 5 and enhance its digital home learning platform, Practico. The company also intends to scale a specialized teacher training franchise program aimed at creating a pool of qualified, job-ready teachers for its partner schools and the broader early education market.
