Soon you can create your own Gems — or chatbots — to help you plan gardens, edit your writing, create workout routines, and more.
Google is set to introduce a groundbreaking feature for Gemini subscribers, enabling them to craft personalized chatbots tailored to their unique needs and interests. These customizable chatbots, dubbed “Gems,” can assume various roles, such as a fitness guide, cooking assistants, writing mentor, and more.
Users can now breathe life into their Gems by simply providing a set of instructions, infusing them with specific personalities and areas of expertise.
During Google’s I/O conference in May, the company unveiled Gems, showcasing their potential to revolutionize personalized assistance. For instance, users can create a Gem that represents a “knowledgeable, casual, and friendly” persona, skillfully guiding individuals in designing low- or no-water gardens.
In other to meet the needs of users who prefer a hassle-free experience, Google is offering a range of pre-designed Gems, including:
– Learning Coach: Provides personalized guidance and support for academic purposes
– Idea Brainstormer: Fosters creativity and helps generate creative ideas
– Career Guide: Offers expert advice and mentorship for professional development
– Coding Partner: Assists programmers in writing and debugging code.
– Editor: Refines writing and ensures error-free communication
The rollout of Gems will be available to Gemini Advanced, Gemini Business, and Gemini Enterprise subscribers across over 150 countries and most languages, accessible on both mobile and desktop devices. This move is seen as Google’s response to OpenAI’s earlier introduction of customizable chatbots, as the tech giant strives to stay competitive in the AI landscape.
