Less than two weeks after the news broke of the resignation of Bode Abifarin, Flutterwave’s former Chief Operating Officer (COO), the company seems to have found replacements for its vacant board.
Life is a continuum so is business. The exit of one or a few may result to a temporary setback but not a shutdown if a company has deep-rooted structures.
Flutterwave, Africa’s leading payment technology company founded in 2016; and headquartered in San Francisco, California and Nigeria with operations in seven other African countries.
Just in, the company has announced the appointment of Dipo Fatokun as the new Chairman of Flutterwave Technologies Solutions Limited.
Mr Fatokun has over 30 years of experience surrounding multiple competencies in banking services, finance, strategy, advisory, leadership, and management in both the public and private sectors. As a Director at CBN, he oversaw key initiatives such as the Cashless Nigeria Initiative, the Bank Verification Number project (BVN), and the Treasury Single Account (TSA) for the Federal Government and automating the foreign currency payments for the Central Bank’s internal and external customers.
His appointment to the board will bring a vast regulatory understanding and supervisory background to solidify Flutterwave’s dedication to uphold the highest regulatory, compliance, and governance standards. This is in line with Flutterwave’s commitment to the ecosystem’s best practices as the company continues on its growth journey.
Also joining the board is a distinguished ecosystem builder and investor empowering tech founders across Africa, as an Independent Non-Executive Director. With over 17 years of experience in finance, specializing in corporate banking and investment management, Tosin Faniro-Dada’s career started with auditing mutual and private equity funds at PwC in Boston. She is currently a Partner at Breega, one of the fastest-growing early-stage VC funds in Europe and Africa.
