Qatar Airways, one of the world’s leading 5-star airlines, has partnered with Starlink, a revolutionary satellite internet service by SpaceX. This collaboration is set to offer passengers seamless and complimentary Wi-Fi access with a simple one-click login. Once operational, passengers can enjoy blazing Wi-Fi speeds of up to 350 Megabits per second, enhancing their overall travel experience.
“Qatar Airways is proud to announce its agreement with Starlink to provide seamless and complimentary Wi-Fi to its global passengers. This exciting collaboration is not only in line with our industry-leading approach to technological adoption, but also serves as an unmissable opportunity to connect Starlink to our global passengers. We look forward to our passengers benefitting from this state-of-the-art addition to Qatar Airways’ in-flight experience,” Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said.
Starlink, the brainchild of Elon Musk’s SpaceX, operates the world’s largest satellite internet constellation. The collaboration with Qatar Airways positions the airline as the largest carrier to collaborate with Starlink, aiming to provide a high-speed, low-latency internet experience on specific aircraft and routes. The service will cater to a multitude of online activities, including streaming entertainment, sports videos, gaming, enriched web-browsing, and more.
Following the official rollout of the service, passengers will have access to Starlink’s network as soon as they board, ensuring continuous internet connectivity from gate to gate. The airline envisions this collaboration as an opportunity to connect passengers globally with state-of-the-art in-flight internet.
“With Starlink set to support the entire Qatar Airways fleet, passengers travelling between over 160 destinations around the world will be able to stay connected with the most advance high-speed internet service from space. In fact, as soon as passengers step onboard the plane the internet works seamlessly throughout their flight from gate to gate, and all from the comfort of their seats,” SpaceX’s vice president of Starlink Commercial Sales, Jonathan Hofeller, said.

Notably, other prominent airlines like JSX, Hawaiian Airlines, airBaltic, and ZIPAIR have already integrated Starlink Aviation, showcasing internet speeds of up to 350 Mbps during flights.
This partnership is not only a technological breakthrough but also a step towards transforming the in-flight internet landscape. As more airlines join forces with innovative technologies like Starlink, passengers can expect a future where being connected in the air is as seamless as on the ground.
