X unveils XHiring: Elon Musk’s vision for an all-encompassing platform takes shape

Elon Musk’s tech empire keeps expanding as X, formerly known as Twitter, launches its latest innovation: the ‘XHiring’ feature. This bold move introduces a new dimension to the social media giant’s capabilities, catering to businesses and their hiring needs.

XHiring allows Verified Organizations to post job openings on their profiles, aiming to bridge the gap between potential employers and candidates. The feature’s early access is exclusive to these Verified Organizations, who pay a monthly fee of $1,000. This fee grants them access to a tool that simplifies the hiring process, letting them list critical roles and effortlessly connect with millions of potential candidates.

With this feature, job vacancies posted by Verified Organizations on 𝕏 will appear on the organization’s profiles. Candidates will be able to easily search and apply for roles via keywords, location, and other filters directly on the platform. If successful, they will be contacted by the employers through the 𝕏 platform.

Similar to its microblogging origin, X is evolving into more than just a social media platform. The move into professional networking territory indicates a challenge to established job search platforms like LinkedIn. However, with LinkedIn’s massive user base of 930 million compared to X’s 450 million, the challenge may be gradual.

Elon Musk’s vision for X as an “everything app” becomes clearer as the platform introduces features beyond its original scope. XHiring joins a series of notable changes, including its renaming and the introduction of various tools. The new feature aligns with X’s overarching goal to be a multifunctional platform.
