The Africa Fintech Summit – a bi-annual fintech bash in Africa – is now taking applications for its sixth AlphaExpo Micro-Accelerator cohort.
The AlphaExpo, which is the core of what the Africa Fintech Summit is all about, is a big event happening in Lusaka, Zambia, between November 2nd and 3rd. The event will have about 15 African startups are getting a chance to showcase their capabilities at the event.
The startups participating in the cohort will also get in on the AlphaExpo Pitch Competition happening on November 3. The competition will be the point to wrap up the year’s event.
Since 2018, the AlphaExpo deal has introduced 53 pre-Series A startups to the world. Some of the startups which have gone through AlphaExpo include PiggyVest, Yellow Card, MarketForce, PNGME, CrowdForce, PayHippo, and many others. These startups have succeeded in raising US$200 million in funding.
Speaking on the event, Andrew Barden, the brain behind the Africa Fintech Summit, said:
“The AlphaExpo initiative is essentially designed to help founders get where they are going faster. Strengthening brand recognition, establishing thought leadership, and generating leads from a business development perspective all play a fundamental role in a startup’s growth story.”
Application is open to African startups in the Pre-Series A stage. Application is open till August 31.
