A world without batteries is tough to imagine. Batteries are those essentials that sustain technology keeping it mobile. It is not wrong to say that batteries can not be done without unless we have decided to get stuck in the vicious cycle of creating and flaring energy without conservation which would be more expensive and less profitable.
As we adventure life and rediscover technology, it is important to bring to light the essence of batteries as we go deeper into technology.
We can’t go any further without making mention of Customcells
Customcells
Customcells, is an Itzehoe and Tübingen, Germany-based battery cell manufacturer, a spin-off of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, founded by Leopold König and Torge Thönnessen, and now led by Dirk Abendroth, CEO.
Customcells has been active in the development and series production of lithium-ion battery cells, from prototypes to small and medium series, for more than ten years. The company works along the entire value chain, from development to certification and series production to recycling.
To date, the company has completed well over 1,000 development-intensive projects.
A glossary look at the above description of Customcells, it is hence imperative to state without doubt that the company has been a key player in the advancement of technology and penetration of mobile devices.
Customcells Seed Funding
The Germany-based battery cell manufacturer recently raised €60M in Series A funding.
The funding round was led by World Fund and Abacon Capital with participation from existing investors Vsquared Ventures and Porsche.
The company plans to use the funds raised to expand its activities in the electrification of air traffic, intensify its research and development work and drive forward its internationalization.
“Our goal is to create and shape a new premium segment in the international market for battery cells. This includes the next generation of battery cells that are developed and produced tailor-made to the needs of our customers. Customcells is to become a global player—an independent, large premium brand in the global battery cell business”
