WhatsApp is releasing an optional subscription plan for businesses: WhatsApp Premium!

WhatsApp is set to roll out another useful feature for business accounts: WhatsApp Premium!

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp Premium will enable businesses to make use of some additional features, such as a more efficient way to be contacted by customers and some upgrades when connecting new devices.

The WhatsApp premium subscription service is currently available only for Beta users and is yet to be officially launched and made available to regular users.

This means that only WhatsApp beta program members can access the Premium menu, where all the extra features reside. WhatsApp premium subscription has been released to businesses in some countries and they can take advantage of this update by installing the latest beta version of the Android and iOS app from the Play Store and TestFlight!

According to the same report, the premium subscription will be geared toward businesses, which means that most of the paid features probably won’t be very useful for the average user.

WhatsApp Premium Subscription Features

  1. A custom business link: the premium account gives users a customizable contact link to their WhatsApp, which can be changed every three months. it is a unique short link that lets customers view the landing business page and easily start a conversation by opening a custom link, for example, https://wa.me/mybusiness. This feature is intended to be an easier way for customers to find a certain business instead of typing in a phone number. Telegram has a similar feature where users can share a direct contact link with others.
  2. Improvements for use of multi-device: The paid version of the app will also allow up to 10 devices simultaneously connected to the same account. This way, employees can connect and manage the business account.
  3. Video call participant increase: Lastly, users can make a video call with up to 32 participants.

Since the functionality is still in beta, WhatsApp hasn’t come forward with an official statement or announcement, so the pricing or the launch date of the new subscription service is not yet known.

Meanwhile, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced that WhatsApp is rolling out a Call Links feature that will allow users to create a link and share it with friends and family via the app. They can click the link and join a call in just one tap — similar to links for Google Meet or Microsoft Teams calls across platforms.
