Apply to Wimbart Office Hours mentorship programme for early-stage startups

Tech-focused public relations company, Wimbart, has launched the 4th edition of its PR mentorship and business support programme. The programme, which is termed Wimbart Office Hours, is designed to provide mentorship to early-stage startups on how to engage the media.

The programme focuses on early-stage African startups that are building tech products for Africans, and the diaspora. The mentorship programme is billed to provide guidance, insight and tools on a range of topics from developing successful communications plans to building relationships with journalists, communicating with investors, and how to amplify press coverage.

For any startup to be eligible for the programme, Wimbart stated that the startup must fulfill the following criteria:

  1. It must be located on, or providing services to the continent.
  2. It must be less than two years old.
  3. It must have a minimum viable product available.
  4. Must have turnover less than $500,000.
  5. Must have a functioning website.
  6. It must have secured investment at no later than seed-level stage.

The Office Hours mentorship programme will have input from Ventures platform, which is a long-term collaborator. Other notable participants at the mentorship programme include industry leaders like TLP Advisory, Norebase, Wowzi, and TechCabal.

Office Hours mentorship programme will start on the 19th of September, with a Q&A session, while the session with the mentors will start on the 17th of October, 2022.

Commenting on the launch of the fourth edition of Office Hours, Wimbart Founder and CEO, Jessica Hope, said:

“Wimbart has worked with almost 100 African technology companies over the years, which has given us a unique insight into the support and business tools they need. Previously we have focused Office Hours on PR & communications, but we realised that even more access to professional services was needed, which is why for 2022, we are excited to connect our incredible network of ecosystem operators to our cohort.”

Founder and General Partner of Ventures Platform, Kola Aina, also commented on the programme. He said:

Application has commenced, and will be on till the 22nd of July, 2022.
