Former US president, Donald J. Trump has launched his social media app on Apple store. The launch comes a year after Trump was suspended from social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and some others.
The social media app, which works like Twitter, is called Truth Social, and it became live on Apple store on Monday.
The app is owned by Trump Media and Technology Group. The former president founded Trump Media and Technology company shortly after leaving the White House.
The app, which already has over 150,000 downloads on Apple store, welcomes its users with a message inviting them to register for the service. However, the sign up process ends with users being placed on a wait-list.
Since the suspension of Trump’s accounts on several mainstream social media platforms, the politician has been trying hard to resume his social media presence. The suspension of his accounts came after the January 6, 2021 riot in the capitol building.
According to a report by CNN, Trump’s son, Donald Jr., tweeted what appeared to be the former president’s first post on Truth Social:
“Get Ready! Your favorite President will see you soon!” read the elder Trump’s message. Posts on the platform are referred to as “truths,” while amplifications of a post are known as “retruths.”

Devin Nunes, former Republican Congressman who resigned to become the CEO of Trump’s media company, said that Truth Social is expected to be “fully operational” by the end of March.
He also added that the platform would be accessible to anyone within the United States, at any time.
