Netflix has announced that it is taking its next step into gaming. The company announced that the gaming part of its business would allow subscribers using Android to play two Stranger Things games.
According to a tweet by the company, available games will show up in the home feed of its users. Users can then tap on the game icon to learn more about the game, and then tap another button to download it.
The tap to download will redirect to the Google Play store to download it. You can also find the games yourself on Google Play.
A Netflix spokesperson said that as soon as the game is done installing, you will be asked to join and play the game using your Netflix login details.
In other words, this means that games are not streamed to your device, they are downloaded instead.
According to the announcement made by Netflix, the gaming feature would first be tested in Poland, before it is expanded to other countries of the world.
“Starting today, members in Poland can try Netflix mobile gaming on Android with two games – Stranger Things 1984, and Stranger Things 3 – all as part of their membership. It’s still very, very early days and we will be working hard to deliver the best possible experience in the months ahead with our no ads, no in-app purchases approach to gaming,” Netflix said.

Netflix had in July, talked about its plans to go into gaming. The firm hired a former EA and Oculus executive to lead the company’s gaming work and stated that its initial strategy would be “primarily focused on games for mobile devices.”
This is not the first time Netflix is branching into gaming. The streaming service company offers interactive titles like Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, Minecraft: Story Mode, and Carmen Sandiego: To Steal or Not to Steal.
At the time of filing this report, it is not clear when Netflix subscribers outside of Poland or on different device platforms may be able to use the feature.
